We all have a great “White Whale.”
You know, that thing we want to conquer but have yet to do so. A dream. A goal. “White Whale” is a metaphor for the thing we chase but never catch. Unless, of course, you actually hunt white whales in which case your great white whale is, literally, a great white whale.
Also, you are a horrible person.
